Buzz Come Up Short at Jersey City
|
The Jersey City Tritons defeated the Salt Lake City Buzz, 1-0, in USPL Triple A action at Jersey City Grounds, with Jersey City pitcher António Alomar named player of the game. The winning pitcher was Alomar, now 1-0. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. Jersey City, at 36-34, occupies 5th place in the Premier AAA.
Early in the game, second baseman Dave Atkins had a run-scoring single for Jersey City. It was his 84th hit of the season and put the Tritons on top, 1-0.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Alomar told the Jersey City News.
