The Salt Lake City Buzz went home winners at Spirits Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Paco Manuel. Manuel silenced the Tortolita Drummers, enabling Salt Lake City to grab the 5-1 win. Manuel, the winner, moves to 4-4. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 1 walk. Shotaro Sugahara was credited with the save for Salt Lake City, his 6th of the season.
One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the third inning. Facing Tortolita hurler Steve Seabolt, Alexandre Keeping, who is rated as the 50th best prospect by BNN, grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Buzz went on to win.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Tortolita manager Arturo Chávez.
At 37-25, the Buzz have a slim two-game lead in the Premier AAA.
