Witt goes 3-for-4 to Power Grey Wolves Offense
|
Preston Witt added some punch to the Vancouver offense, helping them outmuscle the Panama City Piranhas, 11-9. In the game, Witt, who is on pace for 67 RBI this season, was 3-4 with 3 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Pete Rhue got the win, improving to 2-1. He worked 5 innings, giving up 5 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Francisco Valdés earned the save for Vancouver, his 12th of the year.
Francisco Santos did his part for the Grey Wolves, producing a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning. For the game, the second baseman went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Vancouver manager David Krause.
The Grey Wolves now have a record of 51-36 with the win over Panama City.
