Piranhas Need Extras to Top Cattlemen
|
The Panama City Piranhas faced a tough opponent in Ft. Worth pitcher Jorge Castillo, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Cattle Pen by a final score of 4-3. Castillo went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The defending champion Piranhas are off to a horrible start to the season, notching only their 3rd win in 9 games.
The most important at-bat for Panama City came in the top of the 12th inning, when designated hitter Tommy Jones stroked a 1-2 fastball to center for a run-scoring single, putting Panama City up, 4-3.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Jones.
