Tight Tilt Goes to Nobles, 4-3
|
The Salt Lake City Buzz got a superb performance from shortstop Ilkka Haapajarvi, but the Bakersfield Nobles still won the game, 4-3. Haapajarvi was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. The Nobles now have a record of 25-25 with the win over Salt Lake City.
Kazuyoshi Yoshida helped out the Bakersfield cause in the top of the sixth inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the catcher was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"I was a little disappointed," said Salt Lake City manager Allen Bartlett. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
