Calgary pitcher Pete Rhue did his part in helping his team beat the Salt Lake City Buzz, 10-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Rhue, the winner, moves to 5-1. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks. Jesús Hernández recorded his 1st save for Calgary.
Gilberto Rodríguez helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 3-run home run to give Calgary a 3-0 lead.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Rodríguez.
With the win, Calgary has a record of 24-22. Salt Lake City falls to 28-18.
