Striker Rips Bloomington for 5 Hits
|
Ted Striker put on a hitting clinic today as the Calgary Lynx dumped the Bloomington Longnecks 12-1 at Lookouts Ballpark.
The Calgary left fielder made Bloomington defenders earn their pay, lashing Bloomington pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Striker said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Ted Striker singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
This year Striker has collected a .338 batting average to date with 52 hits in 154 at-bats, 17 RBIs, 1 home run and scored 20 times. He has played in 38 games.
