Nobles Fall to .500 After Loss to Dogfish Head
|
Milton starter Allen Duer put a stranglehold on the Bakersfield offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Dogfish Head to a 5-1 win. Duer, now 2-2, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 1, walking 5, and allowing 1 earned run. Vincente Ortíz finished to wrap up his 4th save.
In the bottom of the second, Miguel Montoya hit a 2-run double for Milton. The 7th double of the season for the Milton designated hitter put the Dogfish Head on top, 2-0.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Duer.
Even with the win, the Dogfish Head have a dismal 11-21 record.
