Pawnee ParksNRec starter Germán Rodríguez turned in an exceptional performance against the Tortolita Drummers at Whips Ballpark, resulting in a Pawnee win, 6-2. The winning pitcher was Rodríguez, now 1-1. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5. The win puts the ParksNRec at 14-18, while the Drummers drop to 18-14.
Tied up with the Drummers in the bottom of the fourth inning, the ParksNRec got a boost from left fielder Mike Lipide. With a runner on 1st, Lipide saw a 3-1 sinker from Mack MacDonald and hit a run-scoring triple to break the stalemate and put Pawnee on top, 3-2.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Rodríguez said.
