The Salt Lake City Buzz beat the Calgary Lynx, 7-6, at Lynx Stadium. Salt Lake City center fielder Mike Gillespie earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Salt Lake City reliever Luis Bejarano picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-1. Francisco García was collared with the loss. Salt Lake City is now 18-9, 2 games up in the Premier AAA.
Alistair Mix hit a 2-run double off Francisco García in the top of the seventh, which put the Buzz in front, 6-4. In addition to the double, Mix had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
"We got the victory," said Gillespie. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
