The Bloomington Longnecks dealt the Bakersfield Nobles a 5-2 loss at Lookouts Ballpark. Benedict Patel was the star on offense. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Earning his 4th save of the year was Ieyoshi Asai. The win gives the Longnecks a record of 8-7.
Bloomington took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 1st, Gabrio Campoverde stroked a 2-run home run to make it 3-1, Longnecks.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Campoverde said after the game.
