Drummers Get One-Run Win at Salt Lake City
|
Fans who came to Spirits Stadium watched the Tortolita Drummers and the Salt Lake City Buzz fight to the finish.
The Tortolita Drummers beat the Salt Lake City Buzz, 6-5, at Spirits Stadium. The Drummers got a fine performance from shortstop Steve Costillo, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Losses have been few and far between for the Buzz, who are now 10-3.
Costillo had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the fifth inning, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Drummers went on to win.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Salt Lake City manager Allen Bartlett. "The effort was great."
