Jets Stymie Grand Forks, Take 4-1 Win
|
The Kennesaw Jets bested the Grand Forks Caterpillars by a score of 4-1, with center fielder Thierry Honoré getting the main credit. On the day, Honoré went 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Jets. Kennesaw reliever Reid Myers got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Elias Ijzendoorn was tagged with the loss. Júlio Enríquez finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
It could have been a different outcome for Kennesaw, had it not been for Andy Holder, the 23-year old shortstop . Holder contributed a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fifth inning to put Kennesaw up, 2-0.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Kennesaw manager António Sáenz. "It's usually not just one thing."
With their winning streak at 4, the Jets have raced to a strong start this season.
