|
The Nationals faced a stiff challenge from Virginia Beach pitcher Earl Danziger, but persevered to claim a win at Nationals Park. The final score was 3-2. Danziger went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Ed Maresh notched his 29th save in 31 chances. Ottawa, at 52-49, sits in 7th place in the Menard's AA.
Tomás Bermúdez, who is tied for 2nd in the 3AA in stolen bases with 36, aided the Ottawa cause with a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the first. For the game, the shortstop was 2-4 with a triple and a double.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Bermúdez.
