Ghosts Come Up Short at Yakima
|
The Yakima Hops got a magnificent performance from pitcher Ernesto Tamayo, who muffled the Casper offense en route to a tight 1-0 Hops win at Hops Park. Tamayo picked up the win for Yakima, going 5.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 3-3. Marvin Cahill got the save, the 19th for him this season.
Early in the game, shortstop Cristián Coronado had a run-scoring single for Yakima. It was his 94th hit of the season and put the Hops on top, 1-0.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Yakima manager Craig Walters.
The Ghosts, now 40-61, have lost 4 in a row.
