Santiago goes 3-for-3 as Thunder Hawks Squeeze Past Bethesda
|
Ft. Polk South and Bethesda duked it out at Thunder Hawks Ballpark and the Thunder Hawks came out victorious.
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks bested the Bethesda Atoms by a score of 6-5, with first baseman Alejandro Santiago getting the main credit. On the day, Santiago went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Thunder Hawks. Ft. Polk South is now 56-44. Bethesda is 43-57.
Ft. Polk South grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Santiago, who is tied for 10th in the 3AA in runs scored with 52, hit a 3-run home run. His 13th home run of the season put the Thunder Hawks out in front, 6-3.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Santiago. "And not try to do too much."
