Phoenix Hotspur starter Juan Guillén was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 6-2. Guillén, now 6-6, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 9, walking 3, and allowing 2 earned runs. Phoenix is now 41-39, Ft. Worth 34-46.
Early in the game, first baseman Tadayoshi Watanabe had a 3-run home run for Phoenix. It was his 19th home run of the season and put the Hotspur on top, 3-0.
