Kanko Umaba made an impact in the 6-4 Ft. Polk South win over Virginia Beach. Umaba, who is rated as the 2nd best prospect by BNN, was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ft. Polk South reliever Sam Schultz picked up the win, upping his record to 11-4. Vladmiri Fanardjyan was saddled with the loss. Sima Babic was called on to finish, recording his 8th save.

Luke Thornton hit a run-scoring double off Vladmiri Fanardjyan in the top of the tenth, which put the Thunder Hawks in front, 5-4. In addition to the double, Thornton had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.

"It was terrific getting this win," Thornton said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."

Ft. Polk South is now 50-39, Virginia Beach 49-40.
