|
Billings pitcher Eduardo Díaz did his part in helping his team beat the Lancaster Farmers, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Díaz went 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 6-2. The Polar Bears' win now puts them at 39-50.
Karsten Naarden's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth was significant for the Polar Bears. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Billings leading 2-1, the center fielder hit a bases-clearing double.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Lancaster manager Coy Knight. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
