Patriots Prevail, 2-0, Over D.C.
|
The Boston Patriots beat the D.C. Divided, 2-0, at Dunkin Donuts Park. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Jorge Alejándrez, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Jaganmani Vivek was the winner. Over 7 innings, he allowed no runs on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. Boston bumps their record to 32-47 with the win.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the ninth inning, but José Sánchez didn't flinch. With the bases loaded and D.C. trailing 2-0, Sánchez retired Nick Boyd to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Sánchez, with a wink.
