Polar Bears Sneak Past Grasshoppers, 4-3
|
The Polar Bears had to overcome a good performance from San Bernardino pitcher Matt Martin to claim a 4-3 win at Field of the Grasshoppers. Martin went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Billings reliever Orlando Uribe picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-2. Pedro Huerta was collared with the loss. The save went to Joe Kehoe, his 1st this season.
Ludovic Michel swatted a 3-run home run for Billings in the top of the eighth. The first baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 4.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said San Bernardino manager Manny Cuellar. "But we decided not to take it."
Billings is now 27-39.
