Great Day for Ortega in Atoms Win
|
The exploits of shortstop Pedro Ortega, who is tied for 7th in the 3AA in stolen bases with 20, helped the Bethesda Atoms defeat the Lancaster Farmers, 6-2. Ortega was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Bethesda is now 28-37.
The Atoms got a big at-bat from left fielder Rob Rodríguez. For the game, Rodríguez went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Bethesda a 2-0 lead.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Rodríguez told the Bethesda Citizen. "It's as simple as that."
