Blackett has 3 hit day, Rawhides Move to 43-17
|
The Belvedere Park Rawhides topped the Ottawa Nationals by the score of 8-7, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Ed Blackett. Blackett went 3 for 3 with a triple, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Rawhides on the day. Belvedere Park reliever Ángel Gómez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Chris Kuhn shouldered the loss. Sam Pelsize earned the save, his 14th.
Mike Houston was 2-4 with 2 singles for Belvedere Park. The 23-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Chris Kuhn. It was his 5th RBI of the season.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Blackett.
The Rawhides improved to a lofty 43-17.
