Rainbow Mermaids Turn Back Boston, 5-3
|
It was a fun time at Atlantica, where the Boston Patriots and Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids tangled.
Northern Virginia designated hitter Scott Kerin made his presence felt in the 5-3 Rainbow Mermaids triumph over the Boston Patriots. Kerin was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Northern Virginia goes to 40-36, Boston to 30-46.
Kerin had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-2 fastball from Jaganmani Vivek, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Rainbow Mermaids a 4-3 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Kerin.
Kerin told a Northern Virginia News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
