Atoms Sneak Past Deuces, 4-3

Both teams had their chances, but the Bethesda Atoms eventually prevailed at Atoms Field.
The Bethesda Atoms did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Virginia Beach Deuces at Atoms Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Vincent O'Higgin, who captured player of the game honors. Manny Benavides picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Yoshi Minamoto was tagged with the loss.
Bethesda took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, right fielder Rob Rodríguez hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Rodríguez said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Bethesda now sits at 22-35, while Virginia Beach falls to 34-23.
