The Yakima Hops stymied the Billings Polar Bears, 7-1, at The Igloo. Xavier Gama, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for Yakima. Daniel Gill earned the save for Yakima, his 1st of the year. The losing skid has reached 11 games for Billings.
Cristián Coronado, who is tied for 7th in the 3AA with a .531 slugging percentage, helped out the Yakima cause in the top of the first inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the shortstop was 2-4 with a triple and a walk. He scored 2 times.
