Extra-Inning Win by Hops over Nationals
|
Ottawa got a terrific performance from pitcher John Walls, but it wasn't enough to beat the Yakima Hops. Yakima won the Hops Park contest, 4-3. Walls was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. Yakima now sits at 28-26, while Ottawa falls to 28-26.
Charles Weber had the critical at-bat for Yakima. With one out in the bottom of the tenth inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It gave Yakima the 4-3 walk-off win.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Weber.
