Late Rally by Deuces Secures Win
|
The Virginia Beach Deuces did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the San Bernardino Grasshoppers at Virginia Beach Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Victor de Meij, who captured player of the game honors. The Deuces bumped their record to 29-21 with this latest triumph.
Félix González was the walk-off hero for Virginia Beach. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Deuces right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," de Meij told reporters after the game.
