Fans who gathered at San Antonio Field saw a good contest between the Casper Ghosts and San Antonio BC.
San Antonio pitcher Bryan Palmer gave the Ghosts all they could handle, but in the end, Casper left San Antonio Field with a 4-2 win. Palmer allowed 2 earned runs on 9 hits over 8 innings. Ángelo Román closed the door for Casper, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Casper used the clutch hitting of José Córdova to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Ghosts the lead, 3-2. For the game, Córdova had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Casper manager Pablo Santos. "Our pregame was pretty good."
Casper is now 13-19.
