Polar Bears Lose, 7-2, at San Antonio Field
|
The San Antonio BC beat the Billings Polar Bears, 7-2, at San Antonio Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Alba Hidalgo de Jesus, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4 for 5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. San Antonio is now 10-20, while Billings is 14-16.
With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out in the bottom of the third inning, designated hitter Pablo Morales delivered big for the BC. San Antonio was leading 2-0 when he belted a 3-run home run.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said BC manager Tomás Medina. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
