Xavier Gama put on a hitting clinic today as the Yakima Hops dumped the Casper Ghosts 19-2 at The Graveyard.

The Yakima center fielder made Casper defenders earn their pay, lashing Casper pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Gama said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Xavier Gama struck out in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Ray Neely in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

Gama is hitting .312 so far this season with 22 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has 35 hits including 7 home runs, 17 walks and .405 OBP.
