The Ottawa Nationals faced a tough opponent in Lancaster pitcher Marnix van Rijn, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Farmers Field by a final score of 4-3. van Rijn went 8 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Ottawa reliever Hansky Paillant picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tim Sandaele shouldered the loss. Ottawa occupies 8th place in the Menard's AA at 13-16.
Jesús Mancía had the most critical at-bat for Ottawa. With one in the top of the tenth inning, Mancía hit a 0-1 fastball from Tim Sandaele for a run-scoring single. It put Ottawa in front, 4-3.
"It was terrific getting this win," Mancía said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
