Yakima Hops starter Abraham van der Meulen turned in an exceptional performance against the Casper Ghosts at The Graveyard, resulting in a Yakima win, 4-2. van der Meulen, the winner, moves to 1-3. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks. Yakima currently is in 7th place in the Menard's AA at 14-15.
Yakima catcher Javier Carretero contributed to the cause with a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth. For the game, Carretero was 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI.
Casper manager Pablo Santos said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
