Thunder Hawks Slip Past Virginia Beach, 5-4
Ft. Polk South beat Virginia Beach at Thunder Hawks Ballpark, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to catcher Luke Thornton, who earned player of the game honors. Ft. Polk South reliever Sima Babic picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Urs Ehles shouldered the loss. Ft. Polk South is now 12-16. Virginia Beach is 15-13.

Thornton had the big at-bat for Ft. Polk South. With one out in the bottom of the tenth inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run, giving Ft. Polk South the 5-4 win.

"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Thornton.
