Hops Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Thunder Hawks
|
The Yakima Hops knocked off the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 9-3, at Hops Park. José Bravo, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Yakima won. The third baseman was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 5 RBI. Glenn Wimmer, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 9. His record now stands at 1-0. The Thunder Hawks, now 9-13, have lost 4 straight.
Bravo had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the first inning, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Hops went on to win.
