Renaissance Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
The Echo Park Lakers got a sterling performance from pitcher Mark Collingwood, but the Renaissance still prevailed, 5-1. Collingwood was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. Detroit reliever Esteban Ruíz was the winner. His record is now 6-1. The losing pitcher was Stef Dijkman. Detroit has now won 6 games in a row.
Jesús Román aided the Detroit cause with a bases-clearing double in the top of the 12th. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Detroit manager Eddie Paxil.
