The Houston 1837 BBC dealt the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC a 5-3 loss at Great Northern Field. Nobuhisa Hatoyama was the star on offense. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Martín Valverde got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 5 innings. Pedro Valdéz, credited with the save, is now 3 for 3 in save opportunities.
