Cattlemen Subdue Boston, 4-3
|
Fans who came to The Cattle Pen watched the Ft. Worth Cattlemen and the Boston Patriots fight to the finish.
The Boston Patriots got a superb performance from pitcher John Kaufman, but the Ft. Worth Cattlemen still won the game, 4-3. Kaufman was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Ft. Worth is now 31-35.
Ft. Worth took a 4-2 lead on Jesús Morales's 82nd hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Morales hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Boston pitcher Rick Converse shaking his head.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Boston manager Tyler Carter.
