Plugge Hits 2 home runs in Voodoo Win
|
Getting a good performance from catcher Felix Plugge, the New Orleans Voodoo defeated the Houston 1837 BBC, 7-6. Plugge hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Voodoo. Rémi Ribeiro got the win, improving to 3-2. He held the 1837 BBC to 5 earned runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2. The Voodoo now have a mark of 27-32.
António Pérez delivered a big hit for the Voodoo. The veteran left fielder belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. The longball put New Orleans on top, 4-4. Overall, Pérez was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Houston manager Tyler Johnson. "But we decided not to take it."
