Hawks Lose Again, 6-4, to Pandas
|
Despite a fine performance by right fielder Scott Janousek, the Chicago Hawks suffered a 6-4 loss to the Montana Pandas. Janousek went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Zalontae Hillary got the win, improving to 4-6. He held the Hawks to 3 earned runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Pedro Valdéz closed the game out for Montana, earning his 4th save.
Had Terrence Eler not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Eler hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Pandas.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Eler told reporters after the game.
The losing skid has reached 7 games for Chicago.
