Detroit Renaissance fans were pleased to see so many goose eggs up on the scoreboard as Maru Pao Pao blanked the Montana Pandas, 3-0 at Panda Park today. Pao Pao stopped them on 4 hits while walking 5 and striking out 9.

"Once he gets in a groove, he can be dynamite," Renaissance skipper Eddie Paxil said. "He was on top of his game in this one."

So far this year Pao Pao has made 12 starts, tossed 80.2 innings, struck out 75 batters and walked 23. His record is 5-1 with a 3.57 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .202 batting average.
