The Greenville 84s did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Oakland Oaks at 84s Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Neil Franson, who captured player of the game honors. In 6.1 innings, Franson surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Manuel Rodríguez closed the game out for Greenville, earning his 2nd save.

Kai-xi Choe aided the Greenville cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the catcher went 2 for 3 with 2 singles.

In postgame comments to the Greenville Citizen, Franson said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
