Legion Need Extra Frames to Get Past Voodoo
|
Kingston Township starter Manny Castro pitched effectively against the New Orleans Voodoo at The Voodoo Lounge. The right-hander led his team to a 5-2 win. Castro went 9.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 5-3. With the win over New Orleans, the Legion improved to 21-27.
Clarence Neal's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a knuckle curve from António Rúbio for a 3-run home run. It put Kingston Township in front, 5-2.
"We played hard and won," said Castro. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
