The 1837 BBC faced a stiff challenge from Thunder Bay pitcher Stewart Fleming, but persevered to claim a win at Houston Grounds. The final score was 2-1. Fleming went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Houston reliever Georg von Trapp picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Scott William absorbed the loss.
Houston grabbed control in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Juan Chávez delivered a run-scoring double, to make it 2-1 in favor of the 1837 BBC.
