1837 BBC Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Northern Lions BC
|
Benefiting from Juan Chávez's productive game, the Houston 1837 BBC downed the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 8-4. Chávez hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the 1837 BBC. Ricardo Suárez earned the save, his 1st, for the 1837 BBC. Houston has 3 straight wins, Thunder Bay 3 straight losses.
Phil Sherman had a big 2-run double for the 1837 BBC in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Houston trailing 3-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Cherles Gachineiro and stroked the double to left-center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the 1837 BBC ahead, 4-3.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Chávez told the Houston Observer.
