Tritons Losing Streak at 6 After Extra-Inning Loss to Longnecks
|
The Longnecks had to overcome a fine performance from Jersey City pitcher Francisco Sandoval to grab a 3-2 win at Jersey City Grounds. Sandoval allowed no earned runs over 5.1 innings. Bloomington reliever Nick Taylor got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Mat Tengku was tagged with the loss. Ieyoshi Asai earned the save, his 3rd, for the Longnecks.
Rob Gray made it 3-2 in favor of Bloomington when he delivered a solo home run. It came with no one out in the top of the tenth. The Longnecks went on to win.
"It was a good effort all around," said Gray.
The win brings the Longnecks to 7-5, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
