Dodgers Lose to Cattlemen, 6-1
|
The Brooklyn Dodgers and Ft. Worth Cattlemen brought some excitement to Ebbetts Field.
The exploits of catcher Gilberto Juárez, who is tied for 6th in the PL in home runs with 11, helped the Ft. Worth Cattlemen defeat the Brooklyn Dodgers, 6-1. Juárez was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs. Ft. Worth reliever Enrique Cortéz picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Addie Samson was saddled with the loss.
Jesús Martínez, who is rated as the 90th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Ft. Worth cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the shortstop went 2-5 with a triple and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I really like what we did out there today," Martínez said after the game.
Ft. Worth is now 28-31.
