Golden Cranes Stymie Scranton, Take 5-1 Win
|
Santa Barbara rode a good effort from starter Ángel Navarro to beat the Scranton Supernovas at Crane Field. The final score was 5-1. The save went to Enrique García, his 20th this season. Santa Barbara is now 42-45, while Scranton is 41-46.
Ed St. James had a big run-scoring double for the Golden Cranes in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Santa Barbara leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Apollo Cepeda and stroked the double to left-center. It was his 18th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Golden Cranes ahead, 2-0.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," St. James told the Santa Barbara Daily.
