|
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds turned back the Gryfindor Braves, 4-3, at Cayuse Ballpark. José Vázquez was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Kyung-un Yi, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 22nd save. Ellenburg goes to 53-30. The win puts them 8 games up in their division.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd and two out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when pinch hitter Norm Singletary drew a walk. The Fighting Dachsunds went on to win.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Singletary told the Ellenburg Today.
