The Alloway Halberds got a strong performance from pitcher John Ball, who stymied the Athletic Club KC offense en route to a 3-2 win at Ballpark of Alloway. Marcos Sarmiento got the save, his 13th in 16 chances. Alloway currently is in 5th place in the Silver AAA at 40-42.
Jorge López drove in 2 runs for Alloway. The 27-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Donat Karczmarek. It was his 6th RBI of the season.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," López said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
